Bellarine Fungi October 2025 Chef Giveaway – Game of Skill

2. Competition Period

Entries open: 9:00 AM AEDT on Monday, 6 October 2025
Entries close: 11:59 PM AEDT on Friday, 31 October 2025
Judging will take place within 7 days of the competition closing date. The winner will be announced by Friday, 7 November 2025.

3. Eligibility

Entry is open to residents of Victoria, Australia, who meet the following criteria:
• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry
• Must be a chef, restaurant owner, restaurant manager, or hospitality professional working in a commercial food venue in Victoria
• Employees, directors, and immediate family members of Bellarine Fungi and their associated agencies are not eligible to enter.

The promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and may request proof of identity, age, residency, and occupation. Failure to provide satisfactory proof may result in disqualification.

4. How to Enter

To enter the competition, entrants must:

  1. Access the competition entry form via the Facebook or Instagram lead ad promoted by Bellarine Fungi, or via a link provided on Bellarine Fungi’s social media pages or website
  2. Complete all required fields including: full name, email address, phone number (optional), role/job title, restaurant/venue name, and suburb
  3. Answer the skill-based question: “What gourmet mushroom variety would you love to put on your menu and in what dish/presentation?”
  4. Provide express consent to receive email marketing from Bellarine Fungi by selecting the consent option in the entry form
  5. Submit the completed entry form before the competition closing date and time
    Entry is free. No purchase is necessary to enter.
    Multiple entries are not permitted. Only one entry per person will be accepted. Duplicate entries will be disqualified.
    Entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. By entering, entrants warrant that their submission is their own original work.

5. Game of Skill – Judging Criteria

This is a game of skill, not a game of chance. The winner will be determined based on merit, not random selection.

Entries will be judged by a panel of qualified judges appointed by the promoter. Judges may include representatives of Bellarine Fungi and/or independent culinary professionals.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
• Creativity and originality (50%)
• Relevance (30%)
• Quality of expression (20%)

Each entry will be assessed individually on its merit. The entry that receives the highest combined score from all judges will be deemed the winner.

The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging process or outcome.

6. Prize

The prize is: a voucher for 4kg of either oyster mushrooms or lions mane mushrooms or any combination thereof

Total prize value: $180-$240 AUD

The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash. The promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an item of equal or greater value if the original prize becomes unavailable for any reason.

The prize must be claimed within 30 days of winner notification. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited, and the promoter may conduct a redraw to award the prize to the next highest-scoring entry, or may choose not to award the prize at all.

7. Winner Notification and Announcement

The winner will be notified by email and/or phone within 7 days of the judging date using the contact details provided in their entry form.
The winner must respond to the notification within 48 hours to confirm acceptance of the prize. If the winner does not respond within this timeframe, or if the winner is deemed ineligible or unable to accept the prize, the promoter reserves the right to select the next highest-scoring entry as the winner.

The winner’s name, suburb, venue name, and an excerpt of the winning entry may be published on Bellarine Fungi’s website, Facebook page, Instagram account, and in email communications to other competition entrants.

8. Intellectual Property

By entering the competition, entrants grant Bellarine Fungi a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display their competition entry (including the entrant’s name and venue name) for promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes in any media, including on social media, websites, and in print materials.

Entrants retain ownership of the intellectual property in their submissions but consent to Bellarine Fungi’s use as described above.
Entrants warrant that their entry is their original work and does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.

9. Privacy and Data Collection

Personal information collected through the competition entry form will be used for the purposes of:
• Administering the competition
• Judging entries
• Notifying and announcing the winner
• Fulfilling the prize
• Adding entrants to Bellarine Fungi’s email marketing database (with express consent provided via the entry form)

By entering, entrants consent to their personal information being collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with Bellarine Fungi’s Privacy Policy, available at https://bellarinefungi.com.au/privacy-policy/

Entrants who provide consent will be added to Bellarine Fungi’s email marketing list and will receive a monthly newsletter and promotional offers. Entrants can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting Bellarine Fungi directly at info@bellarinefungi.com.au.

Personal information will be stored securely and will not be sold or shared with third parties except as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Liability and Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the promoter (including its officers, employees, and agents) excludes all liability for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by entrants or prize winners in connection with the competition or the prize, including:
• Loss or damage arising from technical difficulties, including internet or network failures
• Entries that are late, lost, misdirected, incomplete, corrupted, or illegible
• Any tax liability incurred by prize winners (prize winners are responsible for any tax implications)
• Any injury, loss, or damage arising from acceptance or use of the prize

The promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, or traffic congestion on the internet or social media platforms, including any injury or damage to entrants or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this competition.

The promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the competition if, in the promoter’s sole discretion, the competition is not capable of running as planned due to circumstances beyond the promoter’s reasonable control, including but not limited to technical failures, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the competition.

11. General Conditions

By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

The promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who:
• Tampers with the entry process
• Submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions
• Engages in any unlawful or improper conduct in connection with the competition

The promoter’s decision in all matters relating to the competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to be valid and enforceable.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta Platforms Inc., Facebook, or Instagram. Entrants understand that they are providing information to Bellarine Fungi and not to Meta, Facebook, or Instagram.

By entering, entrants completely release Meta, Facebook, and Instagram from any liability in connection with the competition or the prize.

This competition is administered by Bellarine Fungi via Facebook and Instagram advertising tools but is not affiliated with or endorsed by these platforms.

13. Permits

This competition is a game of skill. No permits are required under Victorian or Australian trade promotion legislation.
